Icarus DLC Guide for Expansions, Pets, and Outposts

Icarus has a sizable DLC list, which can make the Steam page feel like a supply crate with too many labels. The main options include major expansions, pets, cosmetic furniture packs, creative outpost maps, and a free Zebra Rescue mission.

Icarus: Styx Expansion

The Styx Expansion was the first major Icarus expansion, released on May 27, 2022. It adds a new map comparable in size to the original, 23 new missions, and many additional creatures to discover.

Styx is not required for the base game. It works best as continuation content for players who have finished or want more beyond the vanilla experience.

Icarus: New Frontiers Expansion

New Frontiers was the second major expansion, released on August 24, 2023. Like Styx, it adds a new map, but this one focuses on a more alien and dangerous environment.

The expansion includes new biomes, new weather events, mutated alien creatures, and more resources to find. New Frontiers is also optional and serves as another major step after the base game.

Icarus: Pet Companions Pack

The Pet Companions Pack adds 11 creatures that players can order down to the planet. Each companion has its own talent tree, and these creatures cannot be obtained through other methods.

Creative Outpost DLC

Outposts are small-scale maps made for Icarus' creative outpost mode. They do not contain threats, missions, or quests. These DLCs are extra spaces for relaxed building.

Icarus: Zebra Rescue Mission
