Icarus Admin Commands and Console Workarounds

Other Games·July 6, 2024·7 min read

ICARUS does not offer a broad set of official console commands for spawning items, changing levels, or completing missions. The available in-game commands focus on multiplayer server administration, while local profile edits can act as a workaround for players who need deeper control.

Icarus Console Command Status

At the time covered by this guide, there are no official Icarus console commands beyond multiplayer player-management commands. Players who want to adjust items, levels, or quest completion can instead edit the `profile.json` file. It is less convenient than typing a command, but it is the available workaround.

To edit `profile.json`, use these steps:

  1. Right click the Windows Start button
  2. Open File Explorer
  3. Type `%localappdata%` in the Quick Access bar and press Enter
  4. Open the Icarus folder
  5. Open the Saved folder
  6. Open the PlayerData folder
  7. Open the Character folder, which appears as a long string of numbers
  8. Open `profile.json` in Notepad
  9. Make the desired edits
  10. Save the file

Icarus Server Admin Commands

  • /AdminLogin (Password Here): Grants admin access using the password set in the server's `icarus.properties` file.
  • /AdminSay (Message Here): Sends an admin message to every player on the server.
  • /BanPlayer (Steam ID or Player Name Here) (Reason Here): Removes a player and permanently blocks them from rejoining.
  • /Help: Lists available Icarus admin commands.
  • /KickPlayer (Steam ID or Player Name Here) (Reason Here): Temporarily removes a player from the server.
  • /ReturnToLobby: Sends the server back to prospect selection.
  • /ReturnToLobbyWhenEmpty: Sends the server back to prospect selection after all players leave.
  • /UnbanPlayer (Steam ID or Player Name Here): Removes a ban created with the BanPlayer command.

Icarus admin commands become available after a player successfully uses /AdminLogin (Password Here). To set the login password, open the server settings and edit the value beside Admin Password. Save the change, restart the server, then enter the admin login command after joining the game.
