Choosing the right hardware for a Hytale server makes a big difference when exploring Orbis with friends. Too little memory can lead to slow loading, lag, or instability, especially as more players join. The right amount depends mostly on your player count, world activity, and whether you plan to use mods or custom content.
RAM is your server's active workspace. Hytale uses it to handle loaded terrain, creatures, player actions, combat, building, and live world updates. When players spread out, explore new areas, or trigger lots of activity at once, memory usage rises. Enough RAM helps the server stay responsive instead of wheezing under pressure.
For vanilla gameplay, start with a RAM plan that matches your expected player count. A small private group needs far less memory than a public community with constant exploration and large builds. If you add mods, custom assets, or heavier server-side features, plan for extra RAM beyond the basic recommendation.
Hytale is still in Early Access, so requirements may shift as new systems, content, and optimizations arrive. Larger servers naturally need more memory to stay stable, even when there is no strict player limit. For technical reasons, the supported maximum player count is capped at 200.
The best RAM choice is the one that fits your current community while leaving enough room for growth. Match memory to your players and playstyle, then scale up when your world becomes busier.
