The HumanitZ Outlast and Outrun update gives survivors more to build, fight, drive, and panic about. Its biggest additions include the Swamp Survival scenario, multistory buildings, new Zeek models, new vehicles, balance changes, quality-of-life improvements, and bug fixes.

What Changed in Outlast and Outrun?

The headline feature is Swamp Survival, a scenario game mode where players defend against waves of Zeeks every in-game day. It adds a more focused survival challenge for players who want pressure on a schedule, because apparently the regular apocalypse was too relaxed.

The update also adds multistory buildings to parts of the map. These new points of interest give players more places to explore, loot, and clear out while traveling through infected areas.

Zeeks received new models as well, including runners, medical Zeeks, police Zeeks, walkers, and more. These additions make encounters less predictable, especially when several enemy types are mixed together.

Vehicles also received attention. New models include a muscle car, rally car, luxury car, and new SUV. Since some tasks, such as repairing the Radio Tower, require longer travel, extra vehicle options can make survival routes less painful.

The update includes broader changes too. Base defense health was increased, the map received changes and new locations, server cleanup settings were added, the Stats page UI was updated, and several bugs were fixed.

New Additions
  • Scenario game mode unlocked

Quality-of-Life Improvements
  • Server lists now place favorites on top
  • Crafted items should now stack when possible
  • Logs from chopped trees now spawn in random locations instead of one pile
Bug Fixes
  • Added an extra check when using the unstuck command to prevent teleport cheating
  • Added a check to cancel zombie bite when dead
  • Fixed weapon attachment not installing when equipped through the right click menu
  • In water, interaction with actors and vehicles now takes priority over collecting water
  • Fixed drag and drop trader glitch that allowed stealing from Buck
  • Fixed dismantle not refunding items due to max stack issue
  • Fixed durability not updating visually when swapping items in a container
  • Stamina now regenerates normally after dropping weight while under a stamina boost
  • Fixed connect to IP by using Steam query port
  • Fixed issue with cooking stove in the campervan
  • Fixed dog spawns so they do not get stuck and cannot be claimed
  • Fixed facial hair color not being respected when selecting a preset
  • Fixed issues with Japanese localization
