CS2 achievement hunting is unusually simple right now. Instead of a long checklist full of headshots, clutch rounds, grenade tricks, and suspiciously specific chaos, Counter-Strike 2 currently has one hidden Steam achievement.

At the time covered by this guide, CS2 includes one hidden achievement named A New Beginning. That surprised plenty of Counter-Strike players because CS:GO had 167 achievements before the move to CS2. Those older CS:GO achievements are no longer available.

To unlock A New Beginning, play and finish one match of Counter-Strike 2. The requirements are light: no win, ace, headshot streak, or heroic scoreboard performance is needed.
Any game mode should work as long as the match is completed. In other words, the achievement is more of a welcome mat than a skill test.

Valve has not confirmed a full replacement achievement list. CS2 launched without several CS:GO features, including left-hand viewmodel settings and the old achievement set, so it is unclear which omissions were temporary and which were intentional.
Still, the fact that CS2 has one achievement instead of none leaves room for more to arrive later. If Valve expands the list, achievement hunters may finally have something larger to chase.
CS:GO had plenty of achievement ideas that would still fit CS2. A few memorable examples include:
If more CS2 achievements are added, this guide should be updated around the new requirements. For now, finishing one match is enough to clear the full list.
