Hosting V Rising servers can be a lot of fun with friends or other players, but sometimes server owners want more control. For example, using admin commands to teleport players or spawn items are features many might want to access. In other cases, server owners may want to easily monitor players or enhance the overall gameplay experience. These features can be achieved by granting admin privileges to your account — a process that involves several steps that can seem confusing at first. That’s why HolyHosting will show you how to set up admins on your V Rising server.

How to Become an Administrator
Go to SteamID IO and enter your Steam username in the search field.
This will return some basic information — copy the SteamID64 value for later use.
Once copied, go to your HolyHosting server panel and click Customizations on the top left.
Locate the Admin List option under Server Settings, then paste your SteamID64 into the field.
Note: If there are multiple IDs, separate them with commas and spaces.
Next, return to the main panel and click Restart to apply the changes.
Join the server once it loads, then open Options and navigate to the General tab.
Make sure Console Enabled is turned on, then exit the menu and press the Tilde (~) key on your keyboard to open the console.
Type adminauth into the text box — this will grant you administrator status.
A confirmation message should appear in the chat, meaning you’re all set!
Administrator Commands
Now that you’re an admin on the server, you can use various commands. There are many to choose from, but here are some of the most important ones to get you started. If you’re curious about all available commands, check out the V Rising Console
Wiki.
Common Issues
1. Can’t Join the Server:
Make sure you’re using the correct password. By default, it’s “Change_Me”, but you can change it under the Server Password section in the main panel. If you’re using the correct one and still can’t connect, ensure the server is online.
2. Can’t Become an Administrator:
Sometimes, failing to gain admin privileges is caused by an incorrect or improperly applied SteamID64. Check the Admin List in the Customizations tab and make sure the IDs are correct. If everything looks good, restart the server — changes must be applied through a reboot.
3. Commands Not Working:
A common reason commands fail is incorrect parameter usage. Visit the V Rising Console Wiki to learn how each command works. It can also help to look up examples online for specific commands. Don’t forget to use the adminauth command after adding your SteamID64 in the server settings.
