Counter-Strike 2, commonly known as CS2, is an extremely popular first-person shooter on Steam. This multiplayer experience is fantastic with friends, giving you the ability to play competitively together on highly detailed maps. Taking it a step further involves hosting your own dedicated CS2 server, providing you with the tools to customize your gameplay. Whether you want custom game modes, workshop maps, or anything else, you have the ability to do that and more. Our HolyHosting servers are user-friendly and streamlined for your convenience, but joining the game after setting everything up can be challenging for some. That’s why we created this guide to help you connect to your CS2 server and start playing with others.

Obtaining the IP Address
Once your CS2 server is up and running, finding the IP address is the next step to join. This information is conveniently available on the main panel, but follow the instructions below if you need assistance. If you are trying to connect to someone else’s server, you will need to obtain this information from another source.
While in your server’s main panel, locate the IP Address section.
Copy and save these values properly for future reference.
Joining a CS2 Server
There are two main ways to join a CS2 community server: using the developer console or the official Steam server list. We’ll cover both in the instructions below, so choose the method you prefer. If the server has a password, make sure to enter it correctly.
Console Method
Launch Counter-Strike 2 on Steam and open the Settings Menu in the top-left corner.
While in this area, locate the Enable Developer Console option under the Game category.
Once found, switch it from No to Yes in the dropdown menu on the right.
Press the Tilde (~) key to open the developer console.
Then, type and press Enter: connect [IP Address:Port] in the console.
Wait for everything to load, then enjoy your experience on the CS2 server.

Server List Method
While in the Counter-Strike 2 main menu, click Play at the top.
Then, click the Community Server Browser button.
In the dialog box, click OK, and you will be redirected to the Game Server List.
Press the Plus (+) button at the bottom and enter your IP Address:Port.
If successful, click the Connect button after selecting your server to start playing.

Note: If a password is required, you will be prompted to enter it.
