How to Enable/Disable Valve Anti-Cheat on a V Rising Server

General·March 22, 2026·6 min read

Whether you are playing on a V Rising server or another game with players, there is a risk of encountering hackers. To protect against this, many servers are secured with Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC), which automatically detects and bans cheating players.

What is Valve Anti-Cheat?

VAC, also known as Valve Anti-Cheat, is an automated system for detecting and banning players who use cheats on a game server. The system will keep track of players and their actions, and if it detects any suspicious behavior, it will automatically ban the player.

While server administrators can issue server bans, a VAC ban is fully automated and will permanently remain on your account.

In addition to this, VAC-banned players will not be able to connect to any secured server in the future.

Why Disable VAC?

There are some reasons to disable VAC on your V Rising server, although it mostly comes down to avoiding a ban or allowing banned users to join. If you want to test cheats or other modifications, disabling VAC is necessary.

How to Disable VAC

1. Access your HolyHosting server panel and then log in.

2. At the top of the main page, press the stop button to shut down the server.

3. In the left menu, enter the Customizations tab.

4. Scroll down and locate the Secure Mode section.

5. Uncheck the box on the right side.

6. Return to the main panel page.

7. Press the Start or Restart button to turn your server back on.

Your V Rising server will now start with Valve Anti-Cheat disabled!

Note: If you want to re-enable Valve Anti-Cheat, simply go back to the

Customizations tab and check the Secure Mode box again. Then, restart the server as before.

Conclusion

With this, you now know how to enable/disable Valve Anti-Cheat on your V Rising server. While this has many uses, remember that you are responsible for managing modifications in your own game.
