How Rice Farming Works in Farming Simulator 25

Other Games·November 27, 2024·11 min read

Rice adds a different rhythm to Farming Simulator 25. It is not just another crop you drill into a normal field and forget about until harvest. Both rice types rely on paddies, water management, and specific equipment, so a little planning saves a lot of muddy confusion.

Farming Simulator 25 Rice Farming Basics

Farming Simulator 25 includes two rice crops: regular rice and long-grain rice. They share the same paddy-based approach, but they differ in seed use, equipment, water needs, yield, and average sale price.

For a quick look at the crop in action, watch the preview below.

Growing Regular Rice

Regular rice has a four-month growth cycle. Plant it from April to May and it can be harvested in August or September. If you would rather ignore the calendar entirely, disable seasonal growth and plant rice whenever your farm schedule allows.

Regular rice can reach a maximum yield of 132,000 L per ha. It uses about 156 L of rice seed per ha and has an average selling price of $3,300.

What You Need

Rice is planted in rice paddies instead of standard fields. You can place paddies through the build menu on open farmland, which means rice is not limited to Hutan Pantai.

For regular rice, prepare the following:

  • Tractor
  • Cultivator
  • Rice planter
  • Rice harvester
  • Fertilizer spreader
  • Trailer

Regular Rice Steps

  1. Open build mode and place a rice paddy on suitable farmland.
  2. Fill the paddy to roughly 60% water with a water pump.
  3. Keep the water level managed while the rice grows.
  4. Harvest the crop with a rice harvester once it is ready.
  5. Unload the rice into a trailer, then store it or sell it.
  6. Apply lime afterward to improve the next yield.

Growing Long-Grain Rice

Long-grain rice follows a similar paddy setup, but it does not need water during sowing. Water still matters during the growing period, so do not treat it like wheat with better scenery.

Plant long-grain rice in April for a September harvest. Its standard yield is 18,000 L per ha, and it requires around 500 L of seeds per ha. The average selling price is lower than regular rice at about $1,589.

What You Need

Long-grain rice uses a broader set of standard crop tools:

  • Rice paddy
  • Tractor
  • Cultivator
  • Seeder
  • Fertilizer
  • Lime
  • Fertilizer spreader
  • Harvester
  • Grain header
  • Trailer

Long-Grain Rice Steps

  1. Buy and place a rice paddy in an open area.
  2. Load the seeder with long-grain rice seed and sow the paddy.
  3. Fertilize the paddy with a fertilizer spreader.
  4. Pump water into the rice field after sowing.
  5. Check the water level each day and keep it maintained.
  6. Harvest after five months with a harvester.
  7. Empty the crop into a trailer.
  8. Store the long-grain rice or take it to a sell point.
