Farming Simulator 25 Highlands Fishing Expansion Guide

Other Games·July 21, 2025·5 min read

The Highlands Fishing Expansion takes Farming Simulator 25 away from familiar farmland and into a Scottish-inspired region where agriculture meets aquaculture. Kinlaig adds rugged hills, old stonework, fishing ports, new crops, and a fleet of fresh equipment, so there is more to do than simply admire the view.

Farming Simulator 25 Highlands Fishing Release Date

GIANTS Software premiered the Farming Simulator 25 Highlands Fishing Expansion on July 1, 2025, confirming a November 4 release date. Players can pre-order it through the official Farming Simulator website or its Steam page, where a 10% discount is available.

What the Expansion Adds

Highlands Fishing introduces a new map, new resources, and a bigger machine lineup. The headline feature is fishing, but regular farming still has plenty of room to breathe. It is still Farming Simulator, just with more boats and fewer excuses to ignore the coastline.

New Map: Kinlaig

Kinlaig is a breezy valley shaped by rough grassland, coastal work, and Scottish architecture. Ancient castles, traditional buildings, and broad skies frame the farmland, giving the map a stronger sense of place than a plain grid of fields.

The map blends agricultural land with fishing ports, matching the expansion's focus on both land and water. That mix should give players a different rhythm from standard crop-focused play, especially for farms built around production chains and resource gathering.

Fishing and Aquaculture

Fishing is the central new activity in the Highlands Fishing Expansion. Players can still work fields and livestock as usual, but the map's waters support new ways to raise, cultivate, and collect fish species.

The expansion supports both shore fishing and boat-based fishing. It also lets players run an aquaculture business, adding another income route alongside the usual crop and animal systems.

New Crops, Fish, Brands, and Machines

The DLC adds salmon and rainbow trout as fish resources, plus onions as a new crop to plant and harvest. It also brings four more brands into Farming Simulator 25: Monosem, Can-Am, Agri-Spread, and GT Bunning.

Together, those brands add over 20 pieces of equipment built around agricultural and aquaculture work. For players who enjoy expanding the shed as much as the farm, that is the real bait.
