Dune: Awakening update 1.2.40.0 is not a massive content drop, but it does add one feature players have been waiting on: character transfers. The patch also includes smaller fixes for crafting, vehicles, UI, and base backup management.

The biggest addition in update 1.2.40.0 is full character transfer support. Players can now move a character to a new Sietch and World while keeping inventory, bank contents, Solari, backed-up bases, and backed-up vehicles.
That is especially useful if friends are playing elsewhere or if a server move makes more sense for your group. Instead of starting over with a new character, you can bring your current progress with you, provided you follow the transfer requirements.
The patch also adds a confirmation prompt before forgetting a backed-up base in the Base Reconstruction Tool. That extra step should help prevent accidental deletions, which is nice because losing a base backup to one bad click is nobody's idea of strategic gameplay.
The following notes come from the official Dune: Awakening 1.2.40.0 patch notes.
