DayZ gets a strange kind of holiday calm during its Christmas event. The maps are colder, the towns are louder, and the loot is wrapped in boxes that practically beg survivors to make bad decisions in public. The DayZ Christmas 2025 event brings back seasonal decorations, special encounters, and holiday gear across multiple maps.

DayZ Christmas 2025 Dates

The DayZ Christmas 2025 event began on December 11, 2025 and ends on January 8, 2026. This seasonal DayZ event is available on the snowy versions of Chernarus, Livonia, and Sakhal.

The festive look does not make the game safer. Players are still hunting, infected are still a problem, and every cheerful sound in a village can double as a dinner bell for trouble.

Christmas Trees and Gift Boxes

The most visible feature is the return of singing Christmas trees placed around towns and villages. They are easy to find because they play carols, which is helpful for navigation and terrible for stealth.

Gift boxes spawn around these trees and can contain useful rewards, including:

• Ammunition
• Food
• Weapons
• Character cosmetics
• Other seasonal supplies

Those presents are worth checking, but they also turn Christmas tree locations into natural ambush spots. If a tree is singing and the village looks empty, assume someone may be watching the gifts instead of opening them.

The event also brings back Dynamic Sleigh Crashes. These are special crash events that scatter valuable loot across the map, similar in reward quality to helicopter crashes.

Before taking the supplies, players must deal with an infected Santa. The sleigh crash event does not replace regular helicopter crashes. Instead, it runs alongside them, giving geared survivors another high-risk, high-reward target to chase.

Reindeer and Holiday Gear

Wildlife also changes for the season. Deer are replaced with Sakhal reindeer, and one special illuminated reindeer can appear among the herd. Hunting it can reward players with a valuable steak and Christmas lights.
