ARK: Fear Evolved was the series' Halloween event, first appearing in October 2015 with spooky creatures, seasonal items, and temporary gameplay changes. For 2024, however, the old ARK: Survival Evolved version is not the event to watch.

The final ARK: Fear Evolved event ran in 2022, starting on October 19 and ending on November 2. ARK: Fear Evolved will not return in 2024 for Survival Evolved, but its replacement, ARK: Fear Ascended, is expected to continue the Halloween tradition in ARK: Survival Ascended.
Studio Wildcard referenced the event in Community Crunch 429, where the developers said they were working on Fear Ascended event content. An exact release date had not been announced at the time of writing.
Based on the older Fear Evolved schedule, players could reasonably expect Fear Ascended to begin during the last week of October 2024 and run into the first week of November 2024. That is still a prediction until Studio Wildcard confirms the official dates.
Other ARK holiday events have also moved from Survival Evolved into Survival Ascended, including Love Ascended, Easter EVO, and Summer Bash.

Although the full Fear Ascended 2024 feature list had not been announced, several Halloween staples are likely candidates. Returning fan favorites could include ghostly creatures such as the Basilisk Ghost and skeleton-themed dinosaurs.

Seasonal creature colors are also likely, giving survivors another reason to scan the wild for odd-looking tames. Halloween events in ARK have traditionally leaned into cosmetics, so spooky structures, Chibi pets, skins, and emotes would all fit the pattern.
Boosted server rates are another expected part of the event. Past Halloween events gave players extra value from core activities such as harvesting, taming, breeding, and gaining XP. In other words, the candy is optional, but the grind probably gets sweeter.
