How to Update Individual Mods on a Minecraft Server

Minecraft·March 22, 2026·4 min read

Adding mods to Minecraft allows users to play the game in new creative ways. Minecraft has maintained its popularity for years, largely thanks to the huge modding community that creates and supports mods since the game's launch. As new mod versions are released, some mods may become individually outdated. Users have the ability to manually update mods individually on their servers through the built-in file manager.

Note:

- Make backups of all files to ensure no files are lost before following this tutorial.

- Make sure all files are compatible with the Minecraft version being used and with other mods, by checking the mod's website/wiki.
