Hello, Minecraft players! ๐Ÿš€ Want your Forge world to run smoothly without lag? ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ Here are some mods that can be useful to optimize your server.

It is important not to fill your world with too many mods. Choose the ones you really need and that are compatible with each other!

(This is not a guide on how to install mods, here is one on how to install them: https://www.holy.gg/post/cรณmo-instalar-mods-y-modpacks-en-holy-hosting)

Version: (1.21.1, still receiving updates)

This mod reduces Minecraft's memory usage in various ways.

Should I install this on the server or only on the client?

Some optimizations are client-side only, but there are some high-impact optimizations that are also relevant on the server. Therefore, you should install it on both sides.

Mod that fixes random memory leaks for both client and server.

Version: (Up to 1.20.4)

mod

Version: (Up to 1.20.4)

Canary is a general performance optimization mod and an unofficial fork of the Lithium mod for Minecraft Forge. It works on both client and server, and can be installed on servers without clients also needing to have the mod.

Canary includes the original Lithium optimizations (mob AI, chunk loading, game physics, etc.) and also contains new optimizations to make the game smoother, without changing any behavior.

Version: (Up to 1.20.2)

Starlight was developed for larger dedicated servers, as they suffered performance issues due to how incredibly slow the lighting engine was.

Version: (1.21.1, still receiving updates.)

ModernFix is an all-in-one mod that improves performance, reduces memory usage, and fixes many bugs in modern versions of Minecraft (most versions from 1.16 onwards are supported) without significantly compromising the game experience. Most Forge 1.16-1.19.2 modpacks will launch approximately twice as fast with ModernFix installed. If some non-default options are enabled, it can even allow large modpacks like All The Mods 8 to run with 3 GB or less of allocated memory.

A mod that aims to optimize the Minecraft server. It works on both dedicated servers and single player!

server core

Link: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/smooth-boot-reloaded

Version: (Up to 1.20.1)

Smooth Boot (Reloaded) is an optimization mod and an unofficial fork of Smooth Boot for Minecraft Forge 1.18.2+. If you have a PC with an older or lower-end CPU (for example, CPUs with 8 or fewer threads), you may have noticed that Minecraft uses 100% of the CPU when loading the startup screen, which causes cursor stuttering and makes multitasking very difficult. Smooth Boot (Reloaded) completely solves this problem, and loading should be much smoother and potentially faster too.

What does this mod do?

  • Changes the number of threads used for loading
  • Changes the priority of threads used by Minecraft

cpu

Link: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/smooth-chunk-save

Version: (1.21.1, still receiving updates)

This mod saves chunks continuously over time, reducing server lag and avoiding lag spikes when saving too many chunks at once.

Vanilla 1.18: Server with 3 players. Chunk saving consumes approximately 11% of the server tick.

With smooth chunk saving: 0.3% of the server tick.

Depending on some variable factors, this can effectively give you up to 10% more server performance, with no downsides.

The term "server" also applies to playing in single-player worlds, as these run an integrated server.

(!! Requires Cupboard to be installed as a dependency in more recent versions. !!)

creeper

Link: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/cupboard

Version: (1.21.1)

Cupboard provides code, different frameworks and utilities for Minecraft mods.

Features:

  • JSON configuration framework
  • Full error tracking in crashes
  • Command logging with errors
  • Debug option for chunk loading logging

Some optimization mods need this dependency to function.
