Managing 7 Days to Die servers or enjoying a single-player experience can be entertaining for all players, but it can also become boring. For example, both server owners and solo players might want to use cheats to generate items or control the world environment. This can only be done through commands, which are executed via the in-game console. These truly allow people to take control of their server, their players, the map, and other functions. However, the process of using console commands may not be common knowledge, let alone which command to use. Because of this, HolyHosting will teach you how to use them and which ones are best for your 7 Days to Die experience.

How to Use Commands
Using commands in single-player and multiplayer differs, as players must be administrators on servers to use them. Although we will focus on general rules for using commands, this will help you know where to enter them, which is required whether you are in solo or multiplayer sessions.
Launch 7 Days to Die on Steam, then enter a single-player game or a server.
Once the world loads and you can play, press F1 on your keyboard.
Next, enter the command in the console text box. In this example, we use the saveworld command.
When executed, you will see confirmation messages in the log. This means the command worked! Otherwise, it did not execute correctly.

Common Issues
Commands Not Working
If you are managing a server and trying to use cheat or other commands, make sure your account has administrator permissions. This is required for many of them, as you wouldn’t want regular players using cheats. However, if you are an administrator or in single-player mode and the commands still don’t work, make sure you are using the correct format. For example, using settime should be like settime day or settime 1300 (time in 24-hour format). Once the correct format is used, the command should work properly.
Lost Data or Events
This happens when commands are executed at the wrong times, such as saveworld when there is a cheater on the server. Scenarios like this can be resolved by restoring the world, undoing recent changes (depending on the situation), or creating a new world. Unfortunately, these are not ideal solutions, but they are here for you to try.
