Steps to Fix the Error:

Access the server ports:

• Create a new port and copy the generated number.

Paste the copied port into the Simple Voice Chat configuration:Files → Plugins → Voicechat → voicechat-server.properties

This should resolve any issues related to blocked or misconfigured ports.

Error When Using Simple Voice Chat with Forge + Plugins

Did you know that Simple Voice Chat functions like a plugin? On servers running Forge alongside plugins, it’s common to encounter permission issues. Here, you’ll learn how to fix them by giving the proper permissions to players who aren’t OP.

Steps to Set Up Permissions with LuckPerms:

Download LuckPerms from its official page and make sure to select the Bukkit version (the LuckPerms mod will not work!).

Place the plugin file inside your server’s plugins folder.

Access your server’s console and run the following command:

lp editor

The console will return a link. Open it in your browser.

In the console, enter the command that appears on the screen (paste it without the /).

From the editor page, open the Groups tab and select default.

Assign the necessary permissions for Voice Chat. According to the plugin’s official documentation, the basic permissions are:

• voicechat.listen
