How to Change Server Visibility in 7 Days to Die

When playing in the zombie-infested world of 7 Days to Die, the players around you can completely change the experience. Playing with other survivors can create more opportunities, but it also introduces potential dangers. On the other hand, many players may want to restrict access so only friends or those deemed worthy can join using the server’s IP. With these different gameplay perspectives, choosing your preferred style is crucial. Fortunately, 7 Days to Die has a built-in server visibility setting that allows you to quickly switch your server from public to completely unlisted. HolyHosting makes this even faster, providing a quick dropdown menu to change visibility in seconds. Here’s a step-by-step guide.

Changing Visibility

  • Log in to your HolyHosting Server Panel.

  • Use the Stop button to ensure the server is offline.

  • In the left-hand menu, go to the Customizations tab.

  • Locate the Server Visibility section.

  • Use the dropdown menu to select your desired visibility.

  • Return to the main panel page and restart the server.

Your server will now start with the visibility options you chose, which will take effect as soon as the server is online.

Understanding Visibility Options

7 Days to Die currently offers three visibility options:

  • Public: The server appears in the public server browser, allowing any player to join.

  • Unlisted: The server does not appear in the browser. Players can only join using the server’s IP and port.

  • Friends Only: Only friends can join the server. Since a server itself cannot be friended, the first player connecting via IP allows their friends to see and join the server.

In-Game Usage

Once the server is running, launch 7 Days to Die and go to Join a Game. Depending on your chosen visibility, you can either search for your server or connect directly using the IP.

Each visibility option has its advantages depending on how you want your server to appear to others. Whether you want anyone to join or only friends, you can change this setting at any time.
